Catholic Cemeteries holds Stakeholder Engagement Council Briefing

On the 6 April 2022, Catholic Cemeteries + Crematoria (CCC) held a briefing session for representatives interested in joining the newly formed Stakeholder Engagement Council (SEC). There was an overwhelming response from a diverse group of cultural and religious groups including Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists.

The SEC chaired by Christopher Zinn, will work closely with CCC in an advisory capacity to help provide a deeper understanding of the communities’ myriad range of cultural, religious and spiritual needs. Adapting to the community’s changing needs for burial and cremation services will form part of the council’s brief.

Christopher emphasised that members would share their knowledge, learn more about the interment sector and “the role of a faith based operator who consciously caters for all faiths and non-faith equally.”

CCC are focussed on gaining insight from the SEC to deliver the best possible experience to families, consumers, cultural and faith groups so they can continue to serve the community now and into the future.

These are exciting times, as the industry is underrgoing massive change and CCC is one of the most dynamic operators in Sydney, with DA approval for greenfield memorial parks at Macarthur and Wallacia.

The session was enthusiastically received by the attendees as an opportunity to make a difference and be an advocate for the new generation of cemeteries with multi purpose land use. CCC are currently processing all SEC applications and the members will be announced shortly.
